Yesterday I didn't have any set plans, other than to obtain some yen. Originally I had planned to go to the Ueno park museums and zoo, but it turns out that a lot of places in Japan are closed on Mondays so my options were limited. I wanted to start off somewhere safe and touristy so I headed towards Tokyo Tower. It's a radio tower that is slightly bigger than The Eiffel Tower.
It was pretty easy to find after getting off at the right station. There was signs and also it's a big tower. I passed by this large temple on the way.
Tanbata is a holiday in Japan where you write your hopes/wishes on a piece of paper and tie it to a tree. There were Tanbata trees all over.
The view from Tokyo Tower is pretty nice. There were quite a few tourists as well as families with small children.
After coming down the stairs I was getting pretty tired so I stopped and took a rest in this perk area. There were quite a few people eating bentos, I assume on their lunchbreak.
After that I decided to head to Shibuya to do some shopping. I can only imagine what Shibuya is like on the weekend because it w3as crowded. The Crossing is pretty intimidating. I went to Tower Records and bought several cds. It took me a while to find all my favorite artists. Except the kpop, kpop was really easy to find. Now I just have to wait until I get home to listen to my new cds because I forgot my cd player. I went to the 109 buidling which was really intimidatingly fashionable and expensive. Then I meandered back to the station but got lost. Turned around, got lost again. Wandered around some more. Eventually I found the station again, I'd passed it several times, but was always on the wrong side of the street.I saw the Hachiko statue, but it was really crowded and people were posing with it and I w33as tired so I left, sontent with haveing seen it. When I made it back to the ryokan I was so tired I collaped in my futon and didn't move for a very long time.
You're video recorder is awesome! Hope your tummy feels better. :-)
